AR-15 FUNDAMENTALS

This USCCA course, with classroom and live-fire range practical shooting, is designed to introduce responsible AR-15 owners to the safe handling, proper maintenance, and effective use of AR-15-style rifles in the context of civilian home defense and self-defense.

Range Time: 4 Hours

Required Round Count: 350 Rounds

Course Description: This classroom and live-fire AR-15 Fundamentals course is designed to introduce responsible gun owners to the safe handling, proper maintenance, and effective use of AR-15-style rifles in the context of civilian home defense and defense.

The following topics will be reviewed in the course:

• Overview of basic AR-15 nomenclature and function
• Cleaning and maintenance
• Accessorizing the AR-15
• How to safely and effectively operate an AR-15
• How to confirm zero
• How to improve skills and precision with an AR-15

Notes:

• Recommend that you bring your lunch. No places to eat within reasonable distance of the range.
• Student must have a sighting system on Rifle.
  • Optic or Iron-sights
• Students must have a sling.
  • Single or 2 point (2-point sling is preferred)
• Students should have a 50 yard zero on sighting system.
  • Zeroing targets are available for free to students
• No armor piercing, steel core, light armor pacing, or bi-metal rounds allowed.
• Knee pads are recommended but not required.
• Magazine Pouches are recommended but not required.
